R&A Talks x LUX Audience Award

The films nominated for the LUX Audience Award raise awareness of pressing social and political issues. This panel discussion will focus on equality and the position of women in the European film industry, as well as different forms of EU film funding. The panelists are Hanna Bergholm, director of Nightborn, R&A’s Finnish Gala film; Liisa Sauri, Executive Director of Media Desk; and Sirpa Pietikäinen, Member of the European Parliament (EPP, kok.). The discussion will be moderated by Pauliina Ståhlberg, Executive Director of R&A.

The discussion is organised in cooperation with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Finland. The LUX Audience Award is Europe’s largest film prize decided by a public vote, with the winner chosen jointly by European citizens and Members of the European Parliament. The award highlights the European Parliament’s commitment to culture and education by supporting European cinema and promoting cultural diversity. The award is presented annually by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in partnership with the European Commission and the Europa Cinemas network.

The discussion is free of charge and will take place at Bio Rex Lasipalatsi following the free screening of Sentimental Value.
