A feast for the eyes! This exuberant bag of treats is a collection of the most beautiful, fascinating, and aesthetically pleasing short films. The cinematic flow will tickle your visual pleasure centres.
The Sunset Special 2 depicts life on a luxury cruise ship where every detail is a shining testament to the ship’s newness. However, the carefully built façade comes apart and reveals a dream world that lurks in the background.
Dreaming and sleeping are also a theme in Hun Tun, a film about insomnia. This film, named after the god of chaos, combines documentary narrative and stop motion animation. Its protagonist is Magdalena, who would simply like to sleep, but something is keeping her awake.
SKRFF is an archaeological survey into the hundreds of layers of paint on a particular graffiti wall. Along with a delightful show of colours, the wall also reveals layers of historical and political events to which it bore witness.
Shot on gorgeous black and white film, Majonezë is the tale of Elyria whole lives in the remote countryside of Albania. Her mind yearns to be free of the shackles of her conservative community and its traditions. Eventually, a moment of personal revolution arrives.
The screening is brought to a close with the festival hit La Voix des Sirènes, as beautiful as the most breath-taking oil painting. The film dives into the mythical world of mermaids by using a technique in which painted-over photograms become animated and are turned into an unforgettable work of art.
