KitKatClub – Kinks of Berlin
This intimate black-and-white documentary takes us inside an iconic Berlin sex club, a playground of desire and hedonism where fantasies come to life to the beat of techno.
Berlin’s legendary KitKatClub, where fantasies come to life, has served as the stage for desire and hedonism for decades. The black-and-white documentary film KitKatClub – Kinks of Berlin dives into the heart of the mythical club and observes its community from within – intimately, respectfully and lingeringly. The work opens the doors to a world where sexuality and radical self-expression intertwine to the rhythm of techno.
KitKatClub – Kinks of Berlin crafts a multidimensional portrayal of those who regard “Kitty” as much more than a sex club. The camera films its regulars and those working behind the scenes. They are connected by a desire for a space where people can wholly be themselves, and practice non-normative sexuality freely. The film follows these individuals both on the dark, pulsating dance floor, as well as in moments of everyday mundanity. Getting ready for the evening is captured as a beautiful ritual. Conversations touch on consent, safety, and addiction.
KitKatClub – Kinks of Berlin is a journey into the Berlin night. Belonging and community, and of course, the longing for shameless perversion, take center stage.
