Director Brad Bird’s debut film The Iron Giant is a cult sci-fi animation about the friendship between a 9-year-old boy and a giant robot in 1950s America. What happens when the Cold War–era government discovers the robot’s existence?

Bird, who has later directed films such as The Incredibles and Ratatouille, delivers stunning hand-drawn animation and masterful storytelling that resonates with viewers of all ages. The film will be screened in a Finnish-dubbed 35mm film print.

The screening is part of Topi Borg’s Movie Night. R&A celebrates the launch of Borg’s new film discussion show Topi Borgin elokuvakerho with the event. After the screening, Borg will discuss the film with the audience. Viewers who ask the best questions will receive DVD prizes. The 30-minute discussion takes place in the cinema after the film.
