Would you like to help create Finland’s largest and most diverse film event? The 39th HIFF – Love & Anarchy festival will once again bring the best of international cinema to screens across the Helsinki metropolitan area this September. We are now looking for motivated people to join our cheerful and ambitious team for the festival as well as for our professional events Finnish Film Affair and Söderlångvik Masterclass.

Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy annually gathers film lovers to celebrate fresh, bold, and conversation-sparking international cinema. The 39th Love & Anarchy Festival will take place 17–27 September 2026, and alongside it the 15th Finnish Film Affair industry event will be held, as well as the sixth edition of Söderlångvik Masterclass.

The Finnish Film Affair (FFA), organised in connection with the Love & Anarchy festival, is Finland’s largest international industry event for film professionals and a key marketplace for Nordic film sales and marketing. Each year it brings together around 500 industry professionals from around the world. The 15th edition will take place in Helsinki on 23–25 September 2026.

Our industry events also include the Söderlångvik Masterclass, a retreat for film professionals working in the Nordic countries, held twice a year in collaboration with the Amos Anderson Fund.

The jobs are located in Helsinki, and since collaboration is at the heart of our festival, we mainly work at our office on Bulevardi. Limited remote work is possible. During the festival period, the roles also include evening and weekend work.

Logistics & Guest Coordinator (R&A)

The Logistics and Guest Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of international filmmaker guests for the R&A festival as well as for planning and implementing festival logistics. The coordinator manages the invitation process for international guests, arranges their travel and accommodation, and coordinates their festival schedules. In addition, the coordinator oversees festival logistics, especially transportation and the delivery of materials both before and during the festival.

The position also includes recruiting the hospitality volunteer team, which consists of drivers and hosts, planning their work schedules, supervising their work, and overseeing the hospitality operation as a whole. The coordinator works together with the Executive Producer to monitor and calculate the carbon footprint of the hospitality operations, particularly the emissions related to travel, accommodation, and transportation. They also contribute to developing practical solutions to reduce environmental impacts.

The coordinator works closely with the Executive Producer, Head of Programme, Theatre and Staff Producer, and the communications team. Cooperation also takes place with the festival’s hotel partners and with embassies from different countries. Applicants are expected to have experience in cultural or event production and a genuine interest in sustainability and environmental responsibility within the cultural sector. Experience in hospitality or tourism and familiarity with international working environments are considered advantages. The role requires an interest in working with people, strong communication and teamwork skills, organisational ability, and the capacity to work under pressure. Excellent English is required, and knowledge of Finnish is considered an advantage.

The employment period runs from 1 June till 11 October. The working hours are 50% June-July, and 100% thereafter. The offered salary is 2350€/month.

Staff Coordinator (R&A)

The Staff Coordinator is responsible for the festival’s volunteer operations together with the Cinema and Staff Producer. The coordinator participates in planning the volunteer programme and is responsible for creating volunteer work schedules, guiding volunteers, and supervising their work. The job includes all preparations related to volunteer activities, such as meal tickets and passes and coordinating volunteer accreditation.

The coordinator also takes part in the planning, construction, and dismantling of the festival centre and other event venues. In addition, the coordinator helps organise volunteer information sessions and other volunteer training events and participates in organising the festival’s closing celebration. Another responsibility of the position is distributing festival marketing materials together with the Cinema and Staff Producer.

Applicants are expected to have excellent communication and teamwork skills, strong organisational abilities, the capacity to work under pressure, and a positive and people-oriented attitude. Experience in event work or customer service is considered an advantage. The position requires good Finnish and English language skills.

The employment period runs from 3 August until 11 October. The working hours are 100%, and the salary offered is 2350€/month.

Production Intern (R&A)

The Production Intern assists the Executive Producer and Production Coordinator in managing the festival’s events and production work. The internship involves various organisational tasks, collecting information and materials, maintaining and archiving files, and communicating with different partners and stakeholders.

The intern also helps with everyday office tasks such as purchases and administrative matters. The position requires good teamwork and communication skills, a proactive attitude toward work, organisational ability, and flexibility. Experience in the cultural sector or in event production is considered beneficial.

The internship takes place from 3rd of August until 4th of October and lasts approximately two months with full-time working hours. Applicants must have internship funding provided by their educational institution. The internship compensation is 1463€/month.

Communications Intern (R&A)

The festival is looking for a detail-oriented intern who has a strong sense for visual presentation. The Communications Intern is responsible for compiling information, images, and other materials related to festival films for use by the communications and production teams. The intern also participates in updating the festival’s website and assists the communications and marketing team with a variety of tasks.

The position requires excellent Finnish and English language skills, careful and persistent working habits, the ability to work under pressure, and a positive attitude. Experience with WordPress-based websites and image editing software is preferred, as is familiarity with film culture. Experience in editorial work or other communication-related tasks is considered an advantage. After the festival, the intern also participates in reporting tasks for film distributors and assists with other follow-up work.

The internship takes place from 3 August until 4 November and lasts approximately three months with full-time working hours. Applicants must have internship funding provided by their educational institution. The internship compensation is 1463€/month.

Social Media & Marketing Intern (R&A)

The festival is seeking a creative intern who is passionate both about the Finnish language and about film. The Social Media & Marketing Intern participates in producing content for the festival’s social media channels, coordinating marketing materials, contributing to target marketing activities, and assisting the communications and marketing team with various tasks.

The role requires excellent Finnish and English language skills, creativity, organisational ability, and flexibility. Applicants are expected to have knowledge of different social media platforms and experience in planning, filming, and editing video content, as well as performing.

The internship takes place from 3rd of August until 4th of October and lasts approximately two months with full-time working hours. Applicants must have internship funding provided by their educational institution. The internship compensation is 1463€/month.

Industry positions

FFA Programme Coordinator

The Programme Coordinator is responsible for the practical production and on-site arrangements of the event’s showcase day and panel programme, and may also assist with other areas of the event’s production as needed. The role requires prior experience in the audiovisual sector (e.g. production companies, distributors, cinemas) or festival events, a positive and solution-oriented attitude, excellent teamwork and communication skills and strong attention to detail. The event’s official language is English thus we require excellent English language skills, however this role does not require Finnish language proficiency. 

The role takes place from 14.7.-4.10., with a salary of 2350 € / per month.

FFA Guest Coordinator

The FFA Guest Coordinator is responsible for managing guest arrangements, including invitations, travel and accommodation arrangements for international guests. The role also includes coordinating and scheduling jury timetables, overseeing hospitality production and logistics (such as parties and guest dinners), as well as instructing assigned volunteers, and other related tasks. The position requires strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple details simultaneously, and a proactive, service-minded approach to guest experience in a fast-paced event environment. We hope for genuine interest in environmental issues and the development of ecological responsibility in the cultural sector. The event’s official language is English thus we require excellent English language skills, however this role does not require Finnish language proficiency. 

The role takes place from 1.5.-4.10.2026, and is at times part-time; 1.5-31.7. 80% and 1.8.-4.10. 100%. The salary is 2350 € / per month.

Industry Communications Specialist

We are looking for a creative and proactive Communications Specialist to work across Finnish Film Affair (FFA) and the Söderlångvik Masterclass in English. The role includes putting together the FFA catalogue, writing newsletters and press releases, updating the industry website, managing social media, and supporting communications and visibility at both events. In the autumn, the role also requires leading the communications for the Söderlångvik Masterclass, acting as the supervisor for the Industry Communications Intern, and may require interviewing international guests during the events. 

We expect prior experience in a similar communications or marketing role, excellent writing and proofreading skills, a strong visual eye, and a solution-oriented, independent approach to work. The event’s official language is English thus we require fluent English language skills, however this role does not require Finnish language proficiency. 

The role takes place from 1.5.-31.10., and is at times part-time; 1.5.-30.6. 60%, 1.-31.7. 80%, 1.8.-30.9. 100% and 1.-31.10. 40%. The salary is 2500 €/month.

FFA Production Intern

The FFA production intern assists in the production of side events such as the F-Weird Party, opening and closing receptions, and matchmaking sessions. They also support guest production when needed. Additionally, their responsibilities include coordinating volunteers and ensuring the smooth operation of the info desk. The role requires strong organisational and teamwork skills, a proactive attitude, and flexibility. Previous experience in event production is considered an asset. The event’s official language is English thus we require excellent English language skills, however this role does not require Finnish language proficiency. 

The internship will take place between 3.8.-4.10. The working hours are 100% and the employment will last for approximately two months. We require that the intern has access to internship support from their educational institution. The role will be paid at the internship level of 1463 € / per month.

Industry Communications Intern

The Industry Communications Intern supports the Industry team with communication tasks for both Finnish Film Affair (FFA) and the Söderlångvik Masterclass. Main responsibilities include assisting with social media production (text proofreading and editing, creating visual content in Canva, as well as participating in both in FFA and Söderlångvik to ensure social media coverage). In addition, the Communications Intern assists with general communication tasks as well as the communications volunteers, supported by the Industry Communications Specialist.

The role requires experience using Canva, a creative mindset and a proactive attitude to bring ideas forward. The event’s official language is English thus we require fluent English language skills, however this role does not require Finnish language proficiency. 

The internship will take place between 3.8.-4.10. The working hours are 100% and the employment will last for approximately two months. We require that the intern has access to internship support from their educational institution. The role will be paid at the internship level of 1463 € / per month.
