Studio Ghibli’s 40th Anniversary Celebration at Bio Rex Lasipalatsi is approaching! In addition to film screenings, Ghibli Day on Sunday, May 18 will feature a wide range of free side events for all ages.

Embark on a treasure hunt around Bio Rex Lasipalatsi in search of Ghibli treasures! Treasure hunters will have a chance to win amazing Ghibli prizes provided by Cinema Mondo.

Dress up in your most fabulous Ghibli-inspired outfit—our cosplay agents will be roaming the event and rewarding the best-dressed participants! On-site, you’ll also have the chance to draw Ghibli-themed art and complete puzzles.

Kuvitellaan Store will bring a selection of Japanese second-hand fashion to Bio Rex Lasipalatsi for sale! At their pop-up booth, you can also try on your favorite outfits and make your own jewelry crafts.

Children can build their favorite Ghibli characters out of legos on Sunday. Leikki – the Museum of Play, specialising in play, toys, and childhood, will travel from Tapiola to Helsinki to host a lego anime character workshop for kids. The workshop is open between 9:15 AM and 3:00 PM.

Shumicon will organise an origami workshop at Bio Rex throughout the entire Ghibli Day event! Shumicon is a Helsinki-based con focused on cosplay and will be held on May 24–25.

Luca, a store specialising in Ghibli merchandise, will bring a charming selection of Ghibli products for sale to Bio Rex Lasipalatsi! Pick up a souvenir or simply admire the offerings.

Teetao Teehuone invites Ghibli Day attendees to create their own floral tea blends. Located in Punavuori, this Chinese tea house offers high-quality teas and traditional tea ceremonies.

Early Bird serial cards for this fall’s Love & Anarchy Festival will also be available for purchase at the event! Buy 6, 12, or 20 ticket bundles now at the lowest prices of the year. The festival will take place September 18–28.
