Love & Anarchy is in full swing and ticket sales are roaring! Over 80 screenings have already sold out, but worry not: this year’s re-run screenings have now been announced, and there will be plenty more chances to enjoy the cinematic treats that might have passed you by!
Re-runs have been added for smash hits that played to packed cinemas, such as the moving documentary Miki Liukkonen – mitä et minusta vielä tiennyt and B.O.Y. (Bruises of Yesterday) from Love & Anarchy guests, director Søren Green and up-and-coming actor Noa Risbro Hjerrild. Japanese director Kōki Mitani’s All about Suomi got a warm response at a sold-out screening full of fans at Maxim on Tuesday night, and the delightfully kooky comedy will be screened again this weekend. The final weekend of the festival will also see screenings of last-minute lineup additions, Pedro Almodovar’s English language debut The Room Next Door and documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story.
Other audience favourites that will receive additional screenings are Oscar winner Ruysuke Hamaguchi’s hypnotic Evil Does Not Exist, folk-star and activist Joan Baez documentary and surprise festival hit Joan Baez I Am a Noise and the ingenious and dizzying mash-up of music and political history, Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat.
The stirringly topical, Palestinian-Israeli-produced No Other Land will be seen again on the final evening of the festival, as will the indictment of Russian politics A Shaman’s Tale, the Cannes-awarded Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell, the Lithuanian modeling school drama Toxic and Soyleymayne’s Story, the story of an undocumented immigrant trying to find security on the streets of Paris. A re-run of the Kristen Stewart-led indie hit Love Lies Bleeding will offer a lighter affair to close out the festival.
Love & Anarchy will continue in Helsinki until Sunday September 29. Additional screenings will be held on Sat-Sun September 28–29. Tickets for all screenings are now on sale.
