The Macedonian-Croatian-Finnish film THE LIBERATION OF SKOPJE is set in the occupied city of Skopje during the Second World War. The film is directed by Croatian father and son Rade and Danilo Šerbedžija. Father Rade made his international breakthrough in Milčo Mančevski’s film Before the Rain (1994), for which he received the Award for the best Actor at Venice Film Festival. Like his father Danilo is also an experienced filmmaker. His film 72 Days was Croatia’s nominee for the Oscar Award for the best foreign film.

Rade and Danilo Šerbedžija are in Helsinki from 19th to 21st of September.
