Finland’s largest film festival begins today. During the 11-day long festival 180 feature films will be screened. The presales of festival tickets were successful: over 30,000 tickets have already been sold.

As a HIFF custom, the most popular films according to the presales will see additional screenings during the last weekend of the festival. Tickets to the additional screenings published now are on sale at hiff.fi and at Bio Rex in Helsinki. The remaining additional screenings will be announced on Monday, September 14th.

The following additional screenings are now confirmed:

Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry
29th Sept. 2pm, Kino Engel 1
The documentary by Alison Klayman follows the work of Chinese artist and political activist Ai Weiwei.

Haute Cuisine – Film & Dinner
29th Sept. 6:45pm, Kino Engel 2 and Restaurant Sunn
Christian Vincent’s film Haute Cuisine is followed by a three course dinner created to the theme of the film by Restaurant Sunn chefs.

Ace Attorney
30th Sept. 11:30am, Andorra
Takashi Miike’s Ace Attorney guarantees a screenful of action and a aesthetics.

Certain People
30th Sept. 12pm, Orion
Swedish director Levan Akin’s first feature film pokes fun at young creative professionals with painful accuracy.

Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry
30th Sept. 6:30pm, Kino Engel 1

ATTN! Due to the visit of director Maja Milos, her film CLIP will be seen in an additional screening at Andorra tomorrow, Friday September 21st at 2pm. The director will be present at the screening.
