The 36th Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy has announced this year’s additional screenings. The re-runs include this year’s festival hits SHOWING UP and SCRAPPER as well as the screening of Pedro Almodóvar shorts STRANGE WAY OF LIFE + THE HUMAN VOICE.
Other films receiving additional screenings are the British director Nida Manzoor’s Bollywood and kung fu remix POLITE SOCIETY, the visually thrilling, ambitious and distinctly freaky DISCO BOY starring Franz Rogowski and the South Korean spy thriller HUNT directed by and starring the Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae.
Among the re-runs are the whole prism of HIFF movies from new U.S. indie masterpieces (FREMONT and WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR) to Finnish indie (GIANT’S KETTLE) and the highest calibre of international short films (Fuck it, I’m Young! and Do Androids Dream?).
The additional screenings include a surprise re-run of the break-out hit from this year’s R&A Spring Break festival AFTER YANG. The tender sci-fi drama stars Colin Farrell as a father mourning the breaking of the family’s robot son.
All additional screenings are held September 22nd to 24th. Tickets to them are on sale now.
