Fiction and documentary projects with a Finnish co-producer can now apply to be featured at Finnish Film Affair 20-22 September. The international selection committees include representatives from Sundance, Berlinale and Curzon.
The industry event of HIFF – Love & Anarchy, Finnish Film Affair is an international marketplace for Finnish and Nordic films, and a networking event for over 500 industry professionals from around the world. Fiction and documentary projects in development, production and post-production, with a Finnish co-producer, are now invited to apply for the event’s Showcase Day. This year, projects with Finland as a minority co-production country can also apply to pitch. The application closes on Monday the 29th of May.
Representatives of chosen projects will have the opportunity to pitch on Thursday the 21st of September, receive accreditation to the event, pitch training and curated meetings with international guests. Three awards are presented at the event; one for best Fiction, Documentary and Nordic Project.
International decision makers involved in the selection process
The showcase projects are selected in June 2023 by committees of international decision makers. Joining the Head of FFA for the fiction jury are Heidi Zwicker (Sundance Film Festival), Eleonora Pesci (Curzon) and Sergio Fant (Berlinale). The international documentary deciders are Grant Keir (Faction North), Andrea Kuhn (Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival) and Consultant & Curator Sirkka Möller.
