The 36th HIFF – Love & Anarchy brings the shared joy of film to cinemas in Helsinki in September. We are now looking for a Guest Coordinator and Logistics and Guest Trainee for Love & Anarchy and a Communications Coordinator for our industry event Finnish Film Affair to help us make the next festival even better.

Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy is the biggest and the most versatile film event in Finland. Every September, film lovers come to us for the bravest, newest and the most talked about films from all over the world. The 36th HIFF – Love & Anarchy festival will be held 14.-24.9.2023. In conjunction with Love & Anarchy we organise the industry event Finnish Film Affair which gathers film professionals from around the world to Helsinki to learn about up-and-coming Finnish and Nordic films.

Good to know: Our offices are situated in Helsinki and as community is at the core of our festival, we mainly work at the office. There is a limited possibility for working remotely. During the festival the work also involves working evenings and weekends.

Love & Anarchy
Guest Coordinator
The Guest Coordinator is in charge of coordinating Love & Anarchy’s international filmmaker guests’ invitations, travel and accommodation and programme. The coordinator works closely with the CEO, Artistic Director, Logistics Coordinator and communications team. Additionally, the coordinator works with eg. the festival’s partner hotel and various embassies. We hope that you have experience in the field of events and/or cultural production. Skills in the hospitality and travel sector are an advantage. A genuine interest in people is essential, as well as good communication, organising and teamworking skills. We hope you have a positive, solution-oriented attitude even in pressurized situations. An excellent command of English is necessary, knowledge of Finnish or other languages is a plus.

Logistics and Guest Trainee
The Logistics and Guest Trainee assists the Logistics Coordinator, Love & Anarchy Guest Coordinator and FFA Guest Coordinator in travel arrangements for the international guests and their logistics in Helsinki. The job requires good organisational and teamworking skills and a positive and solution-oriented attitude. A driver’s licence is a definite plus, as well as experience in events production. A good command of English is necessary, knowledge of Finnish is an advantage.
The traineeship is for approx. one month between 14.8.-30.9. We hope that the trainee can apply for subsidy from their educational institution. The traineeship salary is 1331 € / month. Finnish Film Affair
Organised in conjunction with Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy, Finnish Film Affair (FFA) is Finland’s largest international film industry event that works as a sales and marketing platform for Nordic films. The annual three-day event brings together around 500 film industry professionals from sales, distribution, and production companies, as well as from festivals and press around the world. The 12th edition of FFA will be organised in Helsinki 20.-22.9.2023.
Communications Coordinator
Do you have native-level English language skills and a passion for digital communications and Finnish films? Are you excellent with proofreading and have a good eye for visuals? We are looking for a creative, motivated communications professional to work as our FFA Communications Coordinator for two months in August-September 2023. The role consists of communications and marketing for Finnish Film Affair. The coordinator is in charge of, amongst other tasks, the editing and proofreading of our programme guide, updating our social media channels, and copywriting newsletters and press releases. We are looking for someone who has experience in similar tasks, a positive, solution-oriented attitude, and excellent teamwork and communications skills. In return, we can offer you a unique opportunity to learn about the international film industry and cultural export sector in Finland, to gain new skills and an inspiring team to work with. As our communications are mainly done in English, excellent, native-level command of English is necessary and we will also consider applicants who don’t speak any Finnish. Additionally, the role requires experience in a similar communications/marketing role, a positive, solution-oriented attitude, an ambitious, independent approach to your work, excellent teamworking skills and an interest in Finnish and Nordic cinema. Experience in using InDesign or similar software and command of other languages such as Finnish or Swedish is an advantage.
The duration of the position is 2 months (August-September) with the monthly salary of 2200 €. The role can be also invoiced, please let us know if this is preferable to you when applying.
