Still 2022 R&A Shorts -trailerista "Repliikki"

Are you an audiovisual professional or film student? Do you have a breathtaking idea for the trailer of our Love & Anarchy short film programme?

Helsinki International Film Festival’s short film selection R&A Shorts showcases approximately 150 short films every year. Especially young emerging talents are brought to the spotlight. New European films are at the heart of the program together with the R&A Shorts national competition which presents the year’s best Finnish shorts.

We’re now looking for a trailer to celebrate and promote R&A Shorts!

We invite you to present your idea and production plan for the 2023 R&A Shorts trailer. Submissions are open until 28 February.

Submitting your proposal

You can submit your proposal for the R&A Shorts trailer 2023 via this application form by 28 February. There are no limits as regards the subject or theme. In addition to the mandatory information requested in the form, you can also attach a storyboard or images to the application.

The maximum running time of the trailer is 1 minute 15 seconds. The trailer will be classified and it should not have content that exceeds the rating 12.

Financing and production schedule

HIFF supports the production of the trailer with 1500 €. The production company / school is in charge of the rest of the budget. The production team can have its own partners and sponsors. Partnership agreements, festival accreditations, free tickets and the visibility offered by the festival to the team and partners will be negotiated separately.

The finished trailer must be delivered to the festival by August 1. The trailer will be released together with the R&A Short program at the end of August.

HIFF will contact the selected production teams before the end of March. The production schedule and other conditions will then be discussed in more detail.
