The 35th HIFF – Love & Anarchy brings the shared joy of film to cinemas in Helsinki in September. We are now looking for a logistics coordinator and a Finnish Film Affair production assistant to help us make the next festival even better.

Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy is the biggest and the most versatile film event in Finland. Every September, film lovers come to us for the bravest, newest and the most talked about films from all over the world. The 35th HIFF – Love & Anarchy festival will be held 15.-25.9.2021. In conjunction with Love & Anarchy we organise the industry event Finnish Film Affair. We are looking forward to a full return to cinemas together with our wonderful audience!

Good to know: Our offices are situated in Helsinki and as community is at the core of our festival, we mainly work at the office. There is a limited possibility for working remotely. During the festival the work also involves working evenings and weekends.

Events Coordinator

WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS

The events coordinator will design and produce Love & Anarchy’s public events, such as talks and special screenings, and plan and coordinate the activities of the Festival Centre, working in partnership with the producer. The events coordinator also works closely with the partnerships manager, the staff coordinator, the logistics coordinator, and the communications team. We hope the events coordinator has solid experience in organising cultural events and excellent project management skills. A cheerful and upbeat attitude, flexibility, ability to cope with pressure and good communication and teamwork skills are essential. Good Finnish and/or English language skills are required for the position.

The position begins immediately according to the work contract, at the latest in June, and continues until the 30.9. May and June are part-time work (the specifics to be decided). The salary offer is 2000 € / month.

 

Logistics Coordinator

A festival has many moving parts, from copies of films and merchandise, to communication material and people. The logistics coordinator plans the shifts of volunteer drivers, coordinates transport and distribution, as well as the movement of festival guests, and contributes to the construction of the festival centre and other venues. The logistics coordinator works closely with our vehicle partner, guest coordinator, partnership manager, staff coordinator, producer, events coordinator, and tickets coordinator. The job requires excellent organisational and teamwork skills, the ability to work under pressure and a flexible and solution-oriented attitude. You will lead a team of drivers, but you will also be behind the wheel from time to time, so your own driving licence is required. Experience in event work is a big advantage. Good Finnish and/or English language skills are required.

The position begins 25.7. and continues until 7.10. The first few weeks are part-time work, and beginning from 15.8. it is full-time. The salary offer is 2000 € / month.

Finnish Film Affair

Organised as part of Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy, Finnish Film Affair (FFA) is Finland’s largest international film industry event that works as a sales and marketing platform for Finnish films. The annual three-day event brings together around 400 film industry professionals from sales, distribution, and production companies, as well as from festivals and press around the world. The 11th edition of FFA will be organised primarily on-scene in Helsinki 21.-23.9.2022, with parts of the programme recorded online.

 

FFA Production Assistant (Intern)

The production assistant will help the team with a variety of event organisation and production tasks, such as coordinating the event info desk and volunteers. We offer a rare perspective on the international film industry and cultural exports, development opportunities and a warm and inspiring working environment. Requirements for the role are an interest in Finnish film, experience / training in a similar role, a positive, solution-oriented attitude, an ambitious, independent approach to your work, excellent team working skills, and excellent proficiency in Finnish or English.

 The duration of the production assistant’s position is 1 month in September 2022, and is aimed at students and recent graduates. The internship salary is 1283 € / month. Please let us know if you have the option for an internship subsidy/funding from your school: in this case we hope the internship could be extended by an additional month to 2 months and start already in August; however school funding isn’t a requirement for the 1-month internship.
