The 34th HIFF – Love & Anarchy brings the joy of film back to cinemas in September. We are now looking for a Marketing Coordinator, Print Coordinator and three interns to help us make the next festival even better and more rewarding. Check out our open positions below and please note that application deadlines vary.

Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy is the biggest and the most versatile film event in Finland. Every September, film lovers come to us for the bravest, newest and the most talked about films from all over the world. The 34th HIFF – Love & Anarchy festival will be held 16.-26.9.2021. In conjunction with Love & Anarchy we organise the industry event Finnish Film Affair. We are closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Finland and following official guidelines are again preparing a memorable, multifaceted festival. We are recruiting a Marketing Coordinator, Print Coordinator, Editorial Intern, Communications and Marketing Intern and Staff Intern.

Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator works with festival partnerships, is in charge of selling add space at the festival and plans and coordinates the marketing of the festival itself. The coordinator works as a part of the communications & marketing team and works with the production team to produce festival events. We expect the Marketing Coordinator to have excellent skills in sales, have experience in marketing and commercial partnerships, be creative, have an understanding of diverse audiences as well as skills in event production. Good proficiency in written and spoken Finnish and/or English is required.  

The duration of employment is approximately 4 months, ending 30.9.2021. We hope to fill the post as soon as possible. Salary offer 2200 € / month.

Print Coordinator

The Print Coordinator is in charge of the festival’s film prints, making sure that films and digital keys arriving from all over the world on hard drives and via online are delivered to festival cinemas safely and on time. In addition, the coordinator takes part in producing Love & Anarchy’s online programme. The Print Coordinator works closely with our Programme Coordinator and Tech Officer. We expect the Print Coordinator to have knowledge and know-how of digital prints and screening technology, good IT and communication skills and to be able to work efficiently independently and in an organised manner. Scheduling and precision are key, as is a calm and positive attitude, flexibility and good teamwork skills. Good proficiency in written and spoken Finnish and/or English is required.  

The duration of employment is approximately 2,5 months between 19.7.-8.10. Salary offer 1900 € / month.

Editorial Intern

The tasks of the Editorial Intern are collecting film credits, images and other materials of the programme’s films (for the use of production and communications), taking part in editing the festival’s website and assisting the festival catalogue’s Editor in Chief as well as the whole communications & marketing team. The position requires thoroughness and persistence, the ability to work under pressure, positive attitude as well as good communication skills in Finnish and in English. We expect that the applicant has experience in WordPress-based websites and photo editing and that they have general knowledge of films. Previous experience from editorial tasks is an advantage. 

The internship is approximately 2,5 months and takes place between 5.7.-30.9. We hope the intern can apply for financial support from their educational establishment. An intern level salary of 1252 € /month is paid.

Communications & Marketing Intern

The tasks of the Communications & Marketing Intern are assisting the communications & marketing team with the festival’s publicity and marketing for the audience and media. The position includes working with the festival’s website and social media platforms, marketing as well as production and editorial tasks. The position requires thoroughness and persistence, the ability to work under pressure, positive attitude as well as good communication skills in Finnish and in English. We hope that the applicant has experience in WordPress-based websites and social media channels as well as skills in photo editing and digital marketing tools and that they have a general knowledge of films.

The internship is approximately 2,5 months and takes place between 12.7.-2.10. We hope the intern can apply for financial support from their educational establishment. An intern level salary of 1252 € /month is paid.

Staff Intern

The task of the Staff Intern is to assist the staff-coordinator with coordinating and organizing the jobs of the 200 volunteers working at the festival. In addition, the intern will be the supervisor of the festival centre during the festival in September. The position requires good communication, teamwork and organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure as well as a cheery and helpful attitude. Good skills in Finnish and English are important. We expect experience from customer service and/or working at events as a volunteer or employee.

The internship is approximately 1,5 months and takes place between 1.8.-30.9. We hope the intern can apply for financial support from their educational establishment. An intern level salary of 1252 € /month is paid.
