HOW TO BUY A TICKET TO AN ONLINE SCREENING
What’s this Festival Scope you’re talking about?
Festival Scope is a website where some films from the HIFF programme can be viewed from home. You can access HIFF’s Festival Scope page here.
Where can I buy tickets?
You can purchase tickets to the online screenings directly from the Festival Scope website. Tickets to online screenings cannot be bought from HIFF ticket sales points or the festival’s website. An online screening ticket costs 8€.
How can I buy tickets?
You can buy tickets by clicking on the film of your choice on Festival Scope. In order to buy tickets, you must create an account to the Festival Scope website.
How can I create an account to Festival Scope?
Click on ‘Create Account’ on the top right corner of the page and fill out your name, email and a password.
Why doesn’t my festival pass work on Festival Scope?
The HIFF festival passes can only be used for our screenings in cinemas, and the tickets to the online screenings are sold separately on Festival Scope. However, with a festival pass you get a discount code that gets you 10% off tickets to the Festival Scope screenings!
How can I use my discount code?
When purchasing a ticket in Festival Scope, click on the box “I have a promo code.” and enter the code into its dedicated field.
On what devices can I use Festival Scope?
The Festival Scope website can be used with both PC and Mac computers, Android tablets and phones, as well as iPhones and iPads.
Which browsers can I use Festival Scope on?
Festival Scope works on Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Internet Explorer and Opera. The browsers work best when updated to the latest version.
Can I use Chromecast?
Yes! You can Chromecast from a Chrome web browser on PC and Mac computers as well as Android devices.
Where can I see the films that I have purchased tickets to?
Remember to log in to your account first by clicking the ‘Sign in’ button in the top right corner. When you are logged in, click on ‘My library’ in the top right corner.
I have bought a ticket to a film, but I can’t watch it! What on Earth?
Most likely, the film isn’t available yet. The times the films become available can be checked here or on the films’ pages on Festival Scope.
How do I know when the film leaves Festival Scope?
Every film can be watched for five days from when they become available. The exact ending time can be checked on each film’s Festival Scope page.
Do I have to finish the film in one go?
No! When you start watching, you have 30 hours to finish the film. This means that you can start watching a film one night and complete it during the next day. Please note! The film still has to be finished before the five-day streaming period ends.
Why can the films only be viewed in Finland?
Due to rights agreements, the HIFF programme can only be viewed from Finland.
Why doesn’t the film have subtitles?
You can turn the subtitles on by pressing the CC button in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Why is the image quality bad?
If the image quality is bad, please check your internet connection.
