The Best of Nordic Films Screened at HIFF

The five films competing for this year’s Nordic Council Film Prize have been announced. Each of them will be screened at the 32nd HIFF on 17.–27. September.

The nominees for this year’s Nordic Council Film Prize are:

– Beware of Children (Barn, dir. Dag Johan Haugerud, Norway)

– Charter (dir. Amanda Kernell, Sweden)

– Dogs Don’t Wear Pants (Koirat eivät käytä housuja, dir. J-P Valkeapää, Finland)

– Echo (Bergmál, dir. Rúnar Rúnarsson, Iceland)

– Uncle (Onkel, dir. Frelle Petersen, Denmark)

All five of the NCFP 2020 nominees will be screened at HIFF. All films will have English subtitles.

The winner will be announced in Reykjavik on October 27th.

Last year’s NCFP winner was the Danish nominee May el-Toukhy‘s feature film Queen of Hearts (Dronningen).
