The 32nd HIFF ticket sales began today with a big bang!
The autumn’s favourite so far has been Robert Eggers’ much awaited weird gem THE LIGHTHOUSE starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as 19th century lighthouse workers. The festival screening was reserved completely in less than ten minutes. The Lighthouse will get its theatrical release on November 15th.
Another fully reserved screening is the Opening Gala film BLINDED BY THE LIGHT. Gurinder Chadhda‘s energetic film tells the story of a British-Pakistanian youth who finds the meaning for his life from Bruce Springsteen‘s music.
Another quick seller has been the Love & Anarchy Gala film PORTRAIT OF A LADY ON FIRE (Portrait de la jejune filled en feu). French director Céline Sciamma‘s masterpiece will be sold out soon, so hurry before it’s too late!
But do not despair yet! The unclaimed reservations will become available on Tuesday September 17th at 12 pm.
Among the most popular films have been the festival’s gala films. Those are Terrence Malick‘s epic A HIDDEN LIFE, Zaida Bergroth‘s Finnish Gala film MARIA’S PARADISE and the short film gala ONE-OFF INCIDENT.
The HIFF audiences have bought loads of tickets for AND THEN WE DANCED, HIGH LIFE, MATTHIAS & MAXIME and MID90S.
Other fast sellers include THE DEATH OF DICK LONG, DEERSKIN, THE SOUVENIR, PORT AUTHORITY, HAIL SATAN?, IN FABRIC and BACURAU.
We are happy to inform you that the problem with festival passes has been fixed. The festival passes can now be used to get more than one ticket for any screening.
The first ever HIFF environment tickets have been a success. There is also another new ticket type Buddy ticket that gives two persons access to specific screenings for 15 euros. Check the buddy ticket films from here.
