The winner of the first R&A Shorts National Competition is STAR SHAPED SCAR by Virva and Vuokko Kunttu.
The first jury of HIFF’s history has awarded the winners of the R&A Shorts National Competition. The R&A LIFT award for the best short film goes to short documentary STAR SHAPED SCAR, directed by Virva and Vuokko Kunttu.
– In best cases, a film touches so that it leaves you breathless. This short film was a mirror to us and we hope that as many people can experience the same that the jury experienced, the jury said in their statement.
R&A LIFT award is sponsored by LIFT – New Dimensions of Media, Arts & Culture event.
Tia Kouvo’s short film FAMILY TIME gained the special mention of the jury.
The professional jury of the first R&A Shorts National Competition consisted of YLE’s radio voices Susani Mahadura and Yagmur Özberkan, the creative director Mikko Hakkarainen from Miltton Creative and last year’s audience award winner director and cameraman Johannes Östergård.
This year’s Audience Award of R&A Shorts was given to Jan Ijäs’ documentary short WASTE NO.1 MONEY.
