Come join us and see HIFF films for free under the stars of Helsinki at the Teurastamo Pop Up screenings on September 7–9.
The traditional HIFF pre-screenings are held next week at Teurastamo (Työpajankatu 2). The Teurastamo Pop Up screenings include hits from previous editions of the festival as well as a documentary trip to Asia with live accompaniment.
First of the pre-screenings is a collaboration between HIFF and Docventures. G.J. RAMSTEDTIN MAAILMA (2018) travels through Asia in the footsteps of the Finnish explorer G.J. Ramstedt. This absolute visual feast is accompanied live by Rasmus Hedlund.
Saturday night at Teurastamo will witness the screening of the HIFF 2011 smash hit DRIVE. Come and see how Nicolas Winding Refn’s neo-noir classic has not aged at all.
The pre-screenings culminate on Sunday with the screening of THE TALE OF THE PRINCESS KAGUYA (HIFF 2014) in memory of late Studio Ghibli auteur Isao Takahata.
The Teurastamo Pop Up screenings begin at 9.30 pm, weather permitting. There will be seats available for the first 400 and space for more if you plan on bringing your own blanket.
Doors open at 6 pm.
Pull your beanie deep in your head and haul your *** to Teurastamo!
