Submission for the Helsinki International Film Festival programme has now been closed. 960 films were submitted to the festival by the end of June 2014.

In 2014, Helsinki International Film Festival will once again showcase a wide selection of the most interesting contemporary world cinema. The artistic direction is working hard on this year’s programme, which will present 180 feature films and 160 short films.

HIFF’s submissions are formally by invitation only. Filmmakers and Sales agents have been able to suggest a film for the programme by filling in an application form on HIFF’s webpage. Annually several applications are invited for the submission process with a request for further information and a preview copy. The festival responds only to the applications that are accepted to continue the submission process.

This year HIFF received a total of 960 submissions, almost 370 feature films and 600 short films. The submission for HIFF 2014 was closed on June 30.
