The first weekend of HIFF 2012 has been a success. Cinemas have been full and there have been no technical problems. Today the festival has an honour to introduce several filmmaker guests to the audience.
Simon Staho, the Danish director of teen musical LOVE IS IN THE AIR, will be present at the screening of his film at Andorra at 4.15pm. The dark comedy THE PARADE is screened at Maxim 1 at 6.30pm, and Serbian actor Goran Jevtic will attend the screening. The audience can experience a totally different atmosphere at 6.45pm, when German thriller HELL lights up the screen at Kino Engel 2. Director Tim Fehlbaum will be present to answer questions from the audience. Jaak Kilmi, the Estonian producer of THE NEW WORLD, will attend his screening at 6.45pm at Dubrovnik.
The evening ends in burlesque
At 9pm, one of Croatia’s most popular actors, Rene Bitorajac, will attend the screening of VEGETARIAN CANNIBAL at Maxim 2. At Kinopalatsi, the screening of SHOPPING TOUR at 9pm will be attended by two filmmakers: director Mikhail Brashinsky and producer Gennady Mirgorodsky.
At Andorra and Dubrovnik, the HIFF audience can enjoy a night of burlesque. At 9pm, a screening of SATAN’S ANGEL: QUEEN OF THE FIRE TASSELS, takes place at Andorra. The director, Josh Dragotta, will attend both the screening and the Stage full of Burlesque club at Dubrovnik Lounge. Free entry to the club.
