Come volunteer for the biggest, best and most beautiful film festival in Finland!
HIFF – Love & Anarchy is made possible by over 200 volunteers, united by their love for film. Whether you’re a good driver, a great photographer, deliver excellent customer service or are generally into film festivals, we need you!
Each volunteer will receive a festival T-shirt, festival catalogue, Love & Anarchy postcard and the STAFF-pass. In addition, depending on your duties and the amount of your shifts, you’ll get complimentary tickets and / or food vouchers.
Concerned about working at the event during these covid-19 times? At HIFF we are monitoring the situation closely and are naturally following all rules and regulations set by the authorities and The Finnish Institute for health and welfare.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER TASKS:
Distribution – The logistics team delivers festival posters and programme leaflets prior to the festival according to a distribution plan. Some of the tasks will be completed on foot around the city, and some with the assistance of drivers.
Drivers – Logistics team also delivers materials and supplies before and during the festival to various Love & Anarchy events. In addition, some chauffeur duties will be required during the festival with international guests.
FFA – Love & Anarchy’s international industry event Finnish Film Affair will be held on 22-24 September 2021, both in Helsinki and online. FFA is a showcase of upcoming Finnish films and is attended by around 400 film industry professionals from around the world each year. Hosts – For international guests L&A has traditionally arranged hosts. These volunteers will be guests’ local guide and assistance during the visit to Finland – from the airport to the airport. Hosts are chosen from the more experienced volunteers with preferably previous hosting experience. You can mention your interest in the position in your application.
Info & Info supervisors – Info will operate before the festival as a pre-festival information point and staff accreditation point. During the festival, the information point will be in the Bio Rex festival center. The main task of the information is to provide general information services for festival goers and specific services for accredited guests e.g. ticket pick up point.
Ushers & Theater supervisors – Ushers and theater supervisors work in the cinemas. This autumn the festival covers over 10 cinemas, and most have L&A volunteers in customer service tasks. In addition to the customer service and ticket checks, the cinema staff is responsible for cleaning, airing out and disinfecting the screening rooms.
Photographers and videographers – L&A festival has tens of volunteer photographers creating memories with audience pictures, still photos, guest portraits and recording videos. Some will be published during the festival and some used for marketing the future editions.
Communication and social media – Some of the communication team’s tasks are completed already before the festival e.g. proofreading the catalogue, writing guest introductions or translations. During the festival the social media team and media follow-up will be active! The results can be seen in social media and at the Bio Rex festival center.
Special Force Team – The team is flexibly responsible for various tasks before and during the festival. Tasks may include e.g. office work, building and decorating the info point, taking care of hygiene measures and working as a runner.
